Does Blix count my staff as walkbys or visitors?

No. Blix Traffic recognises devices which are likely to be staff or local WiFi devices and removes them from the standard metrics so they do not impact visit counts, bounce rates, visit durations etc.

Blix Traffic refers to them as “Unique Persistent Devices” (you can see this on the Blix Traffic dashboard report). In order for a device to be counted as a Persistent Device (and therefore removed from all other metrics), it needs to meet one of the following criteria:

  • any device which records a visit for more than a total of x hours in any 24 hour period (x is configurable - for example, 5 hours in 24 hours); and/or
  • any device which visits a location more than x days out of y days (x and y are configurable - for example, 10 days out of 30 days)
